This website was started in late 2009 as a resource for women who seek a balanced
and educated relationship with their money. Our goal for all women is financial security
and the freedom of choices it brings. This is a free, informational site.

As women often feel more comfortable learning from female professionals, we have
established this W2W (women to women) place to explore, learn and share. Our
original content is from women in financial-related fields, but we'll also include
resources and links from the web.

We like to explain the world of finance using some references to food and fashion, so
we hope it's more fun for you too!

While all age groups can profit from the knowledge offered, the website will most
benefit women ages 20-50, since time is an ally when building financial success.

The Silver Purse offers principles of good financial planning. The advice offered here is
general in nature and may not fit your situation. Seek qualified help to address

Robin Applegarth started this site in September 2009. She is a
financial literacy advocate, with a B.A. from the University of
California, Riverside, and a certificate in Personal Financial
Planning. An investor with over 25 years experience, she hopes to
inspire women to get "money literate" and build the resources to
reach their goals.
